Teen facing serious charges for attempted robbery and kidnapping

A North Carolina teenager was recently arrested for allegedly tying up a woman at knifepoint. Authorities believe this was an attempted robbery and kidnapping. This young man is now facing several charges for the incident. If convicted, the consequences will be significant.  

What happened? 

According to reports, at approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, police in Charlotte received a call from a 20-year-old woman who told them that as she was walking to her car she was attacked and tied up by a man in a mask. She was able to get away and made it to her vehicle where she promptly called the police. She gave a description of the man, and roughly 10 minutes after reporting the incident, a suspect was arrested. 

The accused 

The accused is a 19-year-old male. When authorities found him, he allegedly had a rope and knife on his person. After a brief interview by detectives, he was arrested on scene and charged with communicating threats, attempted robbery, first-degree kidnapping and use of a dangerous weapon. If he is convicted, he is looking at time behind bars, fines and various other penalties.
